To add sizzle to the tea drinking ritual, flowers tea gets the job done perfectly, by providing a refreshingly different type of healthy tea.

Flowers tea, just like most of the popular teas, came from the Chinese. Flowers tea contains a green (other tea bases can also be used) tea base, made healthier and delicious with the infusion of the natural oils and scent from flowers. One of the most commonly used is the jasmine blossom made into a flowering jasmine green tea. Jasmine blooms almost every night and the plants are grown somewhere cool until night time, when it’s time to harvest them.

Prior to the blooming of these blossoms, the jasmine is positioned on top of a pile of green tea leaves that are dried and heated. So when jasmine blooms, the green tea leaves soak up the sweet-smelling and natural oils of the flowers. Some flower teas undergo this process of scenting around 2 or 3 times at most while there are others that can be scented up to 7 times.

Flowers tea has more than just its fragrance going for it though. Aside from the health advantages that one can get from an ordinary cup of black or green tea, the flowers bring their own benefits to the flower tea. Jasmine tea for example is a wonderful drink that improves digestion and is known to have an anti-aging effect. Other flower teas increase the body’s defenses against common bacteria and a lot are recognized as helping fight cancer.

So the next time you find yourself preparing the same regular cup of tea, think of the greater advantages you can have by preparing an aromatic, relaxing pot of flowers tea, like jasmine green tea.
